FP Top 25 - 11/15/09

Alright so the poll is going to the next level, it now has a mathematical formula. The results of the formula, surprised me a bit, but it sure is good news for TCU and Cincinnati.

Ties are broken by 1) Team with less losses 2) Looking at common opponents, if none then 3) Margin of Victory.

Also if teams have played head to head it takes the most precedent over even the mathematical formula (if they have the same record). So here is the resume poll for this week:

1. TCU - 11.5 (Margin of Victory 26.3)
2. Cincinnati - 11.5 (Margin of Victory 21.5)
3. Alabama - 10
4. Texas - 9 (Margin of Victory 29.0)
5. Florida - 9 (Margin of Victory 23.4)
6. Ohio St. - 7.5
7. Pittsburgh - 6 (Less Losses)
8. Iowa - 6
9. Boise St. - 5.5
10. Georgia Tech - 4.5 (Lower ranking that Virginia Tech but won head to head)
11. Oregon - 5.25 (Less Losses than Virginia Tech)
12. Virginia Tech - 5.25
13. USC - 4.5
14. Clemson - 3.25
15. Penn State - 2.5
16. Arizona - 2.5
17. Houston - 2 (Lower ranking than Oklahoma St. but won head to head)
