I was first introduced to this glory by my friend Cameron and at that time it cost a whole $1.00. Three years later inflation forced a reluctant increase to $1.25 and recently they have had to kick it to $1.50, which in my humble but always right opinion, is still a bargain (I blame President Bush for the price increase). They also have brownies, hot dogs and a 32 oz drink for $.90, which these days is unheard of.
Now, the biggest complaint people have is the unavailability of parking in Westwood. FP loves some Diddy but FP does not like to pay for parking, so here is your free parking guide for Diddy Riese (926 Broxton Drive, click on Map to enlarge):
1. The best free spot is on Roebeling Avenue, but may require some patience.
2. Strathmore Avenue, Landfair Avenue and Glenrock Avenue are also free, and if all else fails head up Gayley and their are numerous side streets at the top of the hill which are free, but will require a small jaunt.
3. The lots in Westwood are high priced lots, but if you can find a meter you may want to take advantage, the best place to find meters is on Le Conte and Leverling, everywhere else is nearly impossible.
P.S. I recommend ordering "The Jono" which is candy cookie, chocolate chip cookie with mint chocolate chip ice cream. Also don't be afraid to try a hot dog with mustard and onions. Finally you cannot leave without checking to the left of the register for the day old baker's dozen sold at half price. Most cookie shops would be passing these off as freshly baked.

I hope this doesn't take away from FP's credibility, but on a recent visit to Diddy with FP, we did have to pay for parking. It wouldn't have been that bad, but FP fed the meter for the car next to us. I guess he doesn't pay for parking much!
i will let you all know that I have made a personal goal of visiting Diddy once a week during these summer months. Although I do not have a strong history for achieving goals, I am 2/2 on this one. Last weeks visit had a special bonus: Steve Carrel and the Rock walking the red carpet as I enjoyed my Hawaiian Shave Ice ( a snow cone with a scoop of ice cream in it, price $1.50). Diddy is always worth the trip.
man, i haven't been to diddys since it was only $1. while i love me some diddys as well, my question is how much does that $1.50 cookie sandwich cost if you take into account the cost of gas hauling out to westwood, and feeding the meter. For your convenience I did a quick calc for you - it would be about 1 gallon of gas (about $5) and feeding that meter (50 cents) - it looks like your ice cream sandwich cost you $7.
Gay...they serve Hawaiian Shaved Ice there now? Where have I been? I can't believe I ever moved away! If you live in Utah though, they have the same type place near BYU, just like they now have blue mango, and chatters. Is Utah becoming the new Cali? Its a toss up at this point...they have the food, the fun but no Janon :(.
Those parking tips would have been nice to have. We used to park on the left side of it where it says "no parking" (next to the chain) We were always right there to move it if a cop came...but I don't know if they have cracked down on the parking situation out there yet. It worked every time! Oh and did we ever introduce you to "buck 50" down the street? The best sandwiches ever! Try it out (its right next door to in and out)
